Why I Use Foam-Mounted Prints (And Why You’ll Love Them Too)

If you’ve browsed my print shop, you might’ve noticed that all of my photos come foam-mounted. I wanted to share a little about what that means—and why I chose it.

A foam-mounted print is simply a photo printed on fine art paper and then mounted onto a lightweight but sturdy foam backing. The result? A smooth, professional-looking print that’s easy to display and built to last.

You might be wondering: What’s the difference between a regular print and a mounted one?

A regular print is just the paper image. Foam-mounted prints, on the other hand, are backed with support, which means they won’t wrinkle or curl over time. It also makes them easier to handle, frame, or even prop up on a shelf if that’s your style.

I especially love how clean and polished they look. Whether framing it or displaying it as-is, the mount adds structure and a gallery-quality feel. That said, if you’re ordering a larger size (like anything over 16×24), I do recommend framing it to prevent any chance of warping down the line.

Foam-mounting gives each piece a sense of presence: solid, secure, and ready to make a statement.

If you have any questions about displaying or caring for your print, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to help!
