My love for nature and the outdoors was instilled in me long before I had a camera in my hand.  Growing up in western Pennsylvania, there was no shortage of forests to explore.  I could leave the front porch and get lost all day.  And, sometimes, I did.  Finding a stream, following it to the Allegheny River and following the river home.  After graduating from college, I spent a few years living and exploring central Pennsylvania before finding my way to Colorado.  I immediately fell in love with the outdoor lifestyle here.  My plan was to live here for 2 or 3 years to play in the mountains and return to Pennsylvania.  Almost twenty years later and I’m still here. 

I began using photography as a means to share my crazy adventures with family and friends back home. Today I use my photography to transport you to that place and moment with me that you might otherwise never go. I want you to experience the rush of standing on the mountain summit, feel the tranquility of the water flowing by, and the promise of a new day the sunrise brings. I want you to be next to me as we look into the eyes of the wildlife and wonder what they're thinking, feel the intensity of an animal stalking its prey, and the playfulness of the little ones in the spring. 

Photography has taught me a new level of being observant.  I see so much more now than I ever saw before my photography journey.  The patterns and textures in nature, the way the light plays on the landscape, how to anticipate what an animal will do next.  My time in nature is a much greater experience.

Based in Boulder, my main photography focuses are the amazing areas around Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park, but I do love exploring other parts of Colorado and the West.  And, I always try to coordinate a trip to PA during the fall for the colors.  My main camera is a Panasonic Lumix G9 with various Lumix lenses.  Recently, I have been bitten by the film bug and have been bringing my grandfather’s Canon AE-1 camera along.
