I See Ewe

I love winter camping and had a nice time as far as that goes.  But, the snowshoeing and photography was a bit lackluster this trip.  The sky was blue for the first hour of snowshoeing.  Then, the clouds moved in and I never saw the sky again for the two days, nor the mountains for that matter.

As I was heading home the next day, I was thinking to myself that the only thing that would salvage the weekend would be seeing the sheep in the canyon.

I usually see them in spots with no pull outs to stop in.  And, this winter, I’ve only seen them once.  Surprising, given I’ve been to the Park most weekends this season.  With that said, my hopes weren’t high.

I was cruising along lost in a podcast when I happened to see a herd of sheep along the side of the road, I’m assuming licking the salt.  Way before the canyon even.  I immediately pulled off and got my camera out.

Back to my podcast and much happier, I was driving down one of the few straightish stretches in the canyon when I watched a big rock roll down the side onto the road.  And, guess who knocked it down….ewe got it!

Someone out there heard my request and felt compelled to go above and beyond to salvage the weekend for me!
