About Fine Art Photography Prints
Fine art printing is the term often used to refer to professional photographs being printed on very high quality paper which meets certain quality criteria.
Fine art paper is the go-to for photographers because overtime, acid will make photos brittle and crack. And, as they are exposed to light, turn yellow. Using acid free fine art paper prevents this and will prolong the life of your photo for 100+ years.
My prints are made with high-quality archival inks on acid free fine art paper using a high resolution format inkjet printer. Archival inks provide images with a smooth tone and rich colors. My fine art prints will come mounted on 2mm styrene. Styrene is a super smooth plastic mounting substrate that resists warping, making it an excellent choice for adding durability to your prints.
After careful consideration, I have found the following fine art papers to be well crafted and bring my photography to life.
Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag
This is my paper of choice for all of my black and white photographs. I found that the high DMAX (the deepest tone of black available to the paper) of this paper makes the darkest shadows and most delicate highlights present in the print.
MOAB Entrada Bright Rag
This paper provides a warm tone and with its brightness rating of 103%, provides bright and vibrant colors for landscape and nature prints.
